A WORD TO THE WISE: Proverbs 27:14 "Dude, It's Too Early"

Proverbs 27: 14     He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it will be counted a curse to him.

Proverbs 27:14.  All I’m saying is that even God think that morning people are crazy.

Recall that when God, the Maker of the Universe, scheduled time for Himself, He put nighttime first.

Genesis 1: 5     God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

O.K., I’m joking (well, half joking).

Of course it’s not a sin to be a morning person just as it’s not inherently virtuous to be a night-owl.  Proverbs 27:14 tells us that it is wisdom though to be aware that everyone doesn’t keep or prefer the same hours.   Pay attention to other people’s peak hours.

For example, if you have a joint project with someone at work  and your partner has never been coherent before 10 A.M., don’t schedule the presentation at 8:00.

Even if you’re dealing with an early morning person, be mindful that anything earlier than their morning won’t be welcome.

For example, on workdays, my wife is up right at 5:30 A.M.  Me getting up at 4:30 and preparing her breakfast sounds sweet but what it actually turns into is me waking her up an hour early and banging pots in the kitchen so she can’t go back to sleep.  And everybody knows that the last few minutes of sleep are the sweetest.

Pay attention to other people’s peak hours.  If your boss likes to get the worst stuff out of the way early don’t wait until the end of the workday to tell him/her the bad news you found out at 8:30 that morning.

And if you are one of those insanely-chipper-for-no-reason-early-in-the-morning people don’t change for us night owls.  Enjoy your happy.  You go on and get your early morning praise on.

Just don’t try to impose your happy on me that early.  That would be -----unwise.
