Between the first
Passover and the parting of the Red Sea is a short passage in which God’s
opinion of Israel and Israel’s opinion of themselves are quite pretty much
exactly opposite. They think they’re
ready. God thinks they’re not.
The outcome is a
long and winding road, a God-sized fake-out, and a 5-step process for transforming an overconfident
and unprepared community into a competent and powerful one.
The message is
titled: IF YOU AIN’T READY, GET READY.
