MORE WITH LESS

Have you ever had to do more with less?

Between when God declares a prophetic promise and the moment when that promise is fully realized there comes a period when things get worse instead of better, a season when God’s people are forced to do more with less.

Exodus chapters 5 and 6 shows how God uses the season of less to bring His people more --- much, much more.

The message is called:  STUBBLE INSTEAD OF STRAW: GOD DOING MORE WITH OUR LESS .

Listen well.

THE PURPOSE AND PROCESS OF POWER

In the space of one chapter, the number of trained, qualified, anointed, engaged leaders multiplied 7 fold.  Think about what your church cold accomplish with 7 times more powerful leaders engaged, united, and committed to the work of Jesus Christ.   If only there were a process for producing that kind of growth.

There is.

In this detailed lesson originally delivered for Empowerment Week at Wesley Chapel CME church, we see how Jesus multiplied the power of leadership in his ministry and learn the steps to doing the same in the ministries of Jesus Christ where we serve.

The message is called:  THE PURPOSE & PROCESS OF POWER .

AFTER THE LAST WORDS

The 4 gospels record that Jesus uttered 7 statements from the cross.  We call them His 7 Last Words.  But they kinda weren’t.

Whatever you call it ---- Easter, Paschal, Holy Week, Resurrection Sunday ---- the message of the season isn’t about how things end, but about how they should begin.  So here is a sermon about what happens:  AFTER THE LAST WORDS.

Listen well.

GROWING PAINS & GROWING POWER

Historic, traditional denominations like the Christian Methodist Episcopal church feel distressed and confused by patterns of decline in membership and influence.  We desperately leap from growth strategy to growth strategy.  The solutions though have already been provided, long ago, in the story of a phenomenally fast growing collective of churches, a fellowship that went from 120 members to over 3,120 in just 10 days.  And that was all sustained growth.

Their strategies are preserved for us in the book of Acts.  This message unpacks and applies the principles and practices that made the Jerusalem church flourish.  But you’re not going to like everything they did.

This message was originally delivered for the District Conference of the Birmingham congregations of the CME Church.  The title of the sermon is:  GROWING PAINS & GROWING POWER.

WE’LL GET THERE BECAUSE WE AIN’T DRIVING (audio)

Ah, the family road trip.  See the country.  Explore the world together. Ah, the family road trip.  See the country.  Explore the world together.  Get on each others’ nerves and argue every grudge and misunderstanding in your family.

In the closing verses of Exodus 4, before He returned to Egypt, before He confronted Pharaoh, Moses took his family on a road trip.

It wasn’t pretty.

The lessons of their misadventure speak an important Word to our church families about how we get to where God wants us to go.  The title of this message in the Exodus series is:  WE’LL GET THERE BECAUSE WE AIN’T DRIVING.

Listen well.
