WHAT ARE MISSIONARIES FOR?

A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.  A Christian is safe when he/she leaves missionary work to a few religious specialists. But is that what Christians are for?  A missionary is safe when he/she accepts the title but avoids outreach.

And that brings us to the message for Missionary Day at Miles Chapel CME Church.  The sermon is titled: WHAT ARE MISSIONARIES FOR?

Listen well.

WHO'S THAT TEMPLE FOR?

Why do we build churches?  What kind of church does God want us to build?  How can we be sure?  What happens if we’re wrong?

These are the questions that fundraisers in the CME church face.  These are the questions that believers have faced since the days of King David.  The right answers can elevate a ministry.  The wrong ones can tear a church apart.

In a message originally delivered to missionaries in the CME Church, Rev. Anderson Graves takes us back to the original church building project and digs deep for God’s answers.  The message is called: WHO’S  THAT TEMPLE FOR?

Listen well.

WHAT IS A MISSIONARY?

The message for Missionary Day at Miles Chapel CME Church is a challenge to reexamine what we think it means to be a missionary and become something more than we have ever been.

The message is deep, but the title is simple: WHAT IS A MISSIONARY?

Listen well.

WHAT KIND OF MISSIONARY ARE YOU?

In the CME Church and other traditional African-American denominations, we have an organization called the Women’s Missionary Society and we have an expression:  “Everyone is a missionary.”  But in our churches, being a “missionary” doesn’t always mean what you might think it means.  So what does being a missionary mean TO GOD?

Originally delivered at Bass Tabernacle CME Church for the Tuscaloosa District of the Women’s Missionary Societies, this message poses the question: WHAT KIND OF MISSIONARY ARE YOU?

It’s not a question for certain groups in the church, but it is a question that EVERY Christian must personally ask an answer.

So, listen well.
