Why does God ignore you when you ask Him a question?  Why does it sometimes seem like God is answering every prayers except the one you prayed?  Like the Lord is working every miracle except the one you’ve asked for?

CAUSE OF DEATH

You know that verse, about the people perishing for lack of knowledge?

I'm sure you've quoted it, but have you actually read it?

It's from Hosea 4: 6, and the verse goes on to explain WHY the people are low on knowledge.

It's not because there are no leaders.  It's not because there isn't a fresh package for the vision.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. BECAUSE you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; BECAUSE you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children."

Our people are dying from lack of knowledge because they have rejected the knowledge God has already given us.  (The Bible!  I'm talking about the Bible!)

Our clergy are spiritually dying from lack of knowledge because they have  rejected God's Word as the authoritative source of knowledge.

Our children are ignent [spelling intentional] as all get out, spiritual orphans because WE, their parents and role models, have forgotten that God gave us rules--- on purpose, and that those rules still apply.

When you know better, you do better right?  Well, what happens if you don't know?  What happens if you don't want to?

Oh, that's right.

The people die.

SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER

The phrase “speaking truth to power” usually refers to the weak using their words to confront the strong or the poor demanding that the rich use their resources to benefit those who have less.  That is what the phrase means, but the Bible also offers another even more profound way to speak truth to power.

The message is called SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER.

We continue our walk through the early days of Jesus’ public ministry as we review how the Lord organized His disciples into the world-changing movement that was the early church.

EASTER SERMON: KNOWLEDGE vs. EXPERIENCE

It’s one thing to know.  It’s another thing to go through it.   It’s quite another and deeper thing to go through the experience the way you’re supposed to.  The difficulty and power of these 3 processes shed new light on the Easter story of Jesus’ Crucifixion & Resurrection. 

What you know matters, but it’s not just what you know.

The message for this Easter Sunday is all about THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KNOWING & EXPERIENCING.
